I'm the author of two epic fantasy series (Dragon Age/Bitterwood and Dragon Apocalypse/Greatshadow), a superhero duet (Nobody Gets the Girl and Burn Baby Burn) and a steampunk Oz novel (Bad Wizard). My short stories have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies, with the best of my work appearing in the collection There is No Wheel. I live in Hillsborough, NC with my wife Cheryl and too many cats. I teach numerous workshops on writing, and run a monthly book club at the Orange County Library dedicated to reading classic literature. Oh, and in 2015 I was named the Piedmont Laureate, in recognition of the work I've done promoting writing and reading.
